Detta arrangement tog form 2015, då jag skulle förse en stor projektkör ute på Marstrand med musik. Alla stämmorna får komma till tals i melodin och det finns ett par citat från andra bekanta julmelodier. Det är tänkt att man spelar ett pianoackompanjemang till körsatsen utifrån ackordanalysen och de anvisningar som finns i partituret. Jag själv har för det mesta gått åt calypsohållet med start vid (A), men det går förstås också bra att utforma det mer klassiskt. Oavsett vilken sida man väljer på ackompanjemanget, ska introduktionen samt (E) kontrastera; introduktionen med sitt stilla stjärnfall från ovan och (E) med pastorala kvintklanger. This arrangement took shape back in the autumn of 2015 as a commissioned piece for a big project choir. All voices take part in the melody, which also includes a few phrases from other well-known Christmas songs. A piano accompaniment suits the arrangement, with the help of the chord symbols and the instructions/tips in the score. I mainly perform this to a Calypso beat, starting at (A), but obviously a more classical style would also be nice. Regardless of the style, the introduction and (E) should form a contrast, the intro with its peaceful falling stars from above, and the (E) with pastoral fifths. Enjoy! - Andreas Edlund
