Infinite Bach is the four J S Bach violin concertos recomposed by the Swedish composer Johan Ullén.
The original score has been reworked and infused with harmonies associated with film music, pop-aesthetic, and minimalism, however, always firmly rooted in Bach. It's been looped, twisted, and harmony has been added and taken away.
Infinite Bach consists of the following concertos:
BACH RE:COMPOSED E MAJOR BWV 1042
I Allegro, II Adagio, III Allegro assai
BACH RE:COMPOSED A MINOR BWV 1041
I Allegro, II Andante, III Allegro assai
BACH RE:COMPOSED D MINOR BWV 1052R
I Allegro, II Adagio, III Allegro
BACH RE:COMPOSED G MINOR BWV 1056R
I Allegro moderato, II Largo, III Presto
Instrumentation: Solo violin, strings (min. 44221, preferably larger 88442), harpsichord/synthesizer
Dur: 60 min
The individual concertos (appr. 15 min), as well as the individual movements, may be performed separately, or in a different order.
Infinite Bach also exists in a reduced and shortened pocketversion för violin, string quintet and harpsichord/synthesizer.
