Cederberg-Orreteg, Anna
SATB a cappella

With light brushstrokes, Anna Cederberg-Orreteg paints her expressive interpretation of David Carlson's poem. The melody wanders between the voices and the structure is broken up into clearly contrasting parts. We hear the stars falling and are filled with wonder at "billions and billions of tiny fixed points in the night". The music is set for four-part mixed choir at medium difficulty level with divisions in single, characteristically jazz-tinged chords. That Night of Falling Stars was commissioned in 2018 by UNGiKÖR and Professor Erik Westberg for the Swedish Youth Choir and is recorded by the choir on Lyssna till Jorden (2021).
That Night of Falling Stars was published and presented in the series #svenskkörmusik, a project for women composers in collaboration with the Association of Swedish Composers.
