"The text to En ny himmel og en ny jord has a special meaning for me, as Sven-David Sandström's setting of the same text was one of the first choral pieces I sang myself at an advanced level. When the New Motett Choir suggested the same lines from the Book of Revelation, I saw the opportunity to make my own version of it. I interpret the text as a comforting cry of joy, which is why the words 'Death shall be no more, and no sorrow and no lamentation' have a central place in the work. Two major chords at a tritone distance form the basis of the musical idea. In the meeting between these simple chords, a sensation of something greater arises in me." Emil Råberg
