Åsa Hagberg's text is exciting in this Advent song. The introduction »Heaven's gate...« lets us know that Advent is the beginning of something completely new (cf. Psalm 24:7-9). The text thus ties together the entire history of salvation and the song can therefore just as well be used on Palm Sunday. The score by Fredrik Östergren accentuates the strong text with the powerful chorus, which is contrasted with the soft triplets of the verses, which can easily be sung by the children's choir.
