An anthology with about 60 Swedish piano pieces from the 18th century to modern times. Pieces that are familiar to many pianists as well as pieces or composers that are in some way groundbreaking or important to the instrument or its practitioners.
Here are classics by Johan Helmich Roman, Wilhelm Peterson-Berger, Wilhelm Stenhammar, Ture Rangström and Lars-Erik Larsson, together with pieces by contemporary composers such as Victoria Borrisova-Ollas, Daniel Börtz and Albert Schnelzer.
The editors have also highlighted pieces by composers active around the turn of the last century who have been unfairly overlooked, among them Valborg Aulin, Elfrida Andrée and Laura Netzel.
