The sparse orchestration presupposes a fairly large organ, with a romantic sound. If the work is to be performed in the choirs of Swedish churches, with their usually small choir organs with a completely different timbre, the partly organ-soloist movements no. 1 and 9 to lose a large part of their original color. In these two movements, the organ can therefore be supported or replaced by four woodwinds: oboe, two clarinets and bassoon, article number WESS 8128G.
