Don Lind, Heléne

In Sånger i öronhöjd (Songs at Ear Level), Heléne Don Lind has gathered more than 50 favorite songs — both her own and others’ — that she has frequently used in schools and teacher education. Her three main focuses are the Dalcroze-inspired rhythmics method, the child’s voice, and opportunities for language development. The collection includes movement songs from a variety of countries, as well as several well-known — or soon-to-be classic — children’s choir songs with vocal parts. There are also a few canons and quodlibets, along with Heléne’s own musical settings of children’s texts — such as the one about the giraffe. The book also includes songs in all five national minority languages of Sweden.
Whether you already sing and move a lot with your children or are looking to get started, those working in preschools, schools, or community music and arts schools will find songs perfectly suited to children’s musical range and interests.
The book is richly illustrated by Marie Åhfeldt.
