We call the formation of knowledge that is born via our senses and emotions aesthetic knowledge. The knowledge that we only read about, the intellectual, is not anchored in our heart with the same depth and therefore does not have the same ability to touch. We need to combine heart and brain to care for each other in life and on stage in empathic communication. This knowledge is a necessary complement to life today.
Educators, directors, musicians, singers and actors receive in Scenkonst suggestions for exercises and solid tips and advice on how we can develop and deepen our passion for various forms of performing arts. Making us speak, sing and act with our own voice and making ourselves available for our storytelling has become a hallmark of Gunilla Gårdfeldt's work for many years.
Even those who have their professional identity elsewhere than in the artistic field, perhaps as a manager, can find in Scenkonst important thoughts about leadership and how to strengthen their personal communication with their surroundings.

Gunilla Gårdfeldt is professor emerita in stage / musical communication and drama, University of Gothenburg University for Stage and Music. In parallel with her own artistry as an actor, singer and director, she has developed and translated the Stanislavski-inspired theater method, which usually goes by the name The Method, into an interpretation method for singers and musicians.
