NEW FILM Composer portrait: Marie Samuelsson

During 2026 and 2027, Gehrmans Musikförlag will interview some of our most exciting composers. Marie Samuelsson was born in 1956. Just in time for her 70th birthday, she talks in an interview film about the sounds in the city and nature that awaken her desire to create and how they form layers in her innovative orchestral pieces.

The composer portrait is produced by Gehrmans with support from STIM, and in collaboration with Josef Sjöblom (filming/editing). The music in the film is used with generous permission from Myran Productions, Daphne Records and Naxos Sverige. The interview was conducted in Stockholm in September 2025.
