Anders Paulsson is one of today's leading soprano saxophonists. His masterful tone has inspired many composers to write directly for him, but he is also a composer himself. Above all, he has composed many choral works that are performed all over the world. He has a strong environmental commitment, and likes to use his position to spread knowledge about the state of our planet, something that is also reflected in his compositions.
The interest in writing for choir stems from the time when Anders Paulsson attended Adolf Fredrik's Music School. By singing there he learned polyphony and the art of writing four-part choral settings. Paulsson composed over 40 choir settings, both original compositions and popular and personal arrangements of spirituals. A comprehensive picture of Paulsson's choral music can be found on the album "Hymn to Life" (CAP 21732) where the St. Jacob's Chamber Choir sings under the direction of Gary Graden.
Anders Paulsson has also composed a number of choral pieces, which are linked to his great environmental commitment: Danjugan Sanctuary, Deep Water Interlude, Subterranean Wail, Rising Seas, As Ice Was Melting, Oceans Rose etc.
