The literary ability to empathize meant a lot to Laci Boldemann's creation. Musical drama, Lieder and songs for voice and piano as well as vocal works with orchestra are genres in which he accomplished essential things. The purely instrumental works, with thorough technical design and atmospheres that range from the refreshingly stimulating to the deeply moving, complete the scope of his artistry.
With concentration and sharpness, Laci Boldemann proceeded to work with the movements of the melody and the balance of the form. His strict overview of the technical dimensions of composing was combined with a sensitive, shifting and deep temperament where humor and a heightened radiance of joy could be exchanged for distant feeling and sad stillness.
Laci Boldemann was born in 1921 in Helsinki. After completing school, he studied conducting and piano at the Royal Academy of Music in London, his teacher was Henry Wood. At the outbreak of war in 1939, Boldemann left England and came to Sweden where his piano studies continued with Gunnar de Frumerie. Intensive work began
through which Boldemann established himself in Swedish music life. He got involved in both FST's and STIM's boards. Boldemann's teaching work included several years of teaching at Stockholm's Borgarskola.
