The piano magazine is a modern textbook in piano playing. In Pianomagasinet, the music comes first. The joint music making, the improvisation and the mixed repertoire taken from different genres and with different origins provide a broad entry into piano playing. The content is based on a repertoire that, with built-in exercises for tone formation and technique, develops the instrumental and musical skills. Great emphasis is also placed on singing and listening. The piano magazine is divided into progressively arranged chapters. There is a connection to the Music Magazine (GE 10412) and the Violin Magazine (GE 10410), but the Piano Magazine can also be used separately. What the student(s) play is self-sustaining and does not require the teacher's accompaniment to sound good. The material is flexible, while at the same time it can provide the control that many students and teachers desire. Jan-Erik Sahlberg is a pianist, piano pedagogue and methodology teacher with extensive experience in teaching at various levels.
