Ahimsa is Sanskrit and means "non-violence". The tonality is based on the Indian seven-tone bhairava scale: c, dess, e, f, g, ass, h. I use a complementary technique and thus bring in the notes of the western scale. - A link between East and West. Ahimsa is the third composition, where I used single Sanskrit words. The two previous works are Shanti, shanti for orchestra with obligate soprano and Aum for soprano solo. The very word Ahimsa has for me an inherent strength of its own. Here there is also a lift towards the meta-physical and cosmic. The "Ahimsa thought" is universal.
