Songs with accompaniment and building blocks for the baptism service by Margareta Melin.
In many parishes there is a pronounced need for alternative liturgical texts. Not least when, at the baptism of a child, you want to reach the relatives where they are, a need arises for alternative means of expression.
In 2004, Alingså's pastorate started a baptism project with the aim of becoming better at listening in and receiving the parents who want to have their child baptized.
Margareta Melin joined the project group. Her task was to come up with proposals for texts for an alternative baptismal order, or rather to formulate a number of building blocks for the various elements that traditionally belong in a funeral service.
The baptism begins with a text section by
Margareta Melin . Her building blocks are available here. The idea is that individual building blocks should be able to be inserted into current baptismal services. As a cohesive whole, they constitute an alternative baptismal order and are included in the material that the handbook committee eventually takes a position on.
The song booklet contains newly written piano accompaniments by Ulf Esborn, for both solo songs and congregational songs. In addition, this edition contains a previously unpublished text by Britt G Hallqvist to Georg Riedel's famous summer song. All solo songs are available in several keys and can thus be easily adapted to different situations.
