Can you travel further than the longest?
How many stars are there?
What is an eternity?

Longer than longest contains newly written songs about space where music, movement, astronomy and poetry intertwine into playful and educational material for children - mainly in lower school age. Ensemble Yria, the winners of the 2022 Grammy for Children's Music of the Year, have in their music education work been inspired by children's questions about space and created songs from these. Songs that help both ask big questions and give small answers. The music is interspersed with lots of methodical tips and creative crafts that can involve the whole family or class.

The material can be used to illuminate astronomical phenomena, or with musical signs in interdisciplinary thematic works about space. All songs from the book are available on Spotify .

In the book, we meet the Red Giant, the ancient star who likes to invite his neighbors to tea. Maybe with freshly baked cosmo tops too! We also get to move through Cassiopeia's five bright stars, experience a star cluster and create our own comet. Marvel at the cosmos, in the middle of the music!

Ensemble Yria consists of Britta Forslund, Cia Eurenius, Karin Westberg, Madeleine Wittmark and Sara Ohlzon. All are active musicians and pedagogues trained at the Royal The Academy of Music in Stockholm.

PRESS VOICES

"In the song Längta hem, the ensemble sings so beautifully that I almost lose my breath, the tears come every time. The arrangements are intelligent, swinging and pleasantly sparse"
Rhythmic forum

"The overall impression is very positive, and I think it's exciting with a cross-border project where music, rhythm and astronomy are mixed in such a well-thought-out way".
Popular Astronomy

"The song Uddi Suddi Guddi Gallej turned out to be a real hit".
The Preschool newspaper

"a refreshing material for teaching about space ... The songs on the CD of the material are also very skillfully performed and are really lovely to listen to".
