Finally, Erna Tauro's and Tove and Lars Jansson's original songs about the Moomin characters are collected in one volume - with complete piano arrangements. All songs have received a new notation and a careful update of the chord analysis, where some period-typical harmonizations have been removed to make it easier for the modern chord player. We have kept the refined piano arrangements by Hans Busch, with a high retro factor, in their original form. Some keys have also been adjusted to be in a more comfortable voice mode. In this collection, we have also chosen to include the songs Kaksin (Together), as well as the popular Höstvisan, which incidentally came third in the YLE - Finnish Broadcasting Radio - song competition in 1965.
In these songs parades the rich personal gallery of characters - colored by the difficult post-war period - who populate Moomindalen, and who, since the mid-50s, have achieved an ever-increasing international appreciation; the colorful little My who doesn't shy away from partying, fighting with the police or shouting at the sky; the lonely Mrs Filifjonk whose only company are empty mirrors and slowly ticking seconds towards the end of the day; the disillusioned theater rat Emma, and not least the short-sighted philosophizing Moomintroll himself.
