In The Brightest Spring, spring breaks out of a long and frozen winter, in nature or within ourselves, and rises jubilantly towards the height. The piece is largely based on a three-part canon in female and male parts, with an underlying bass. Both text and music are provided by Christian Engquist, who, among other things, performed the work with his students at Viktor Rydbergs Gymnasium.
