Whether you are a singer, instrumentalist or actor, you benefit from knowing how the relationship between psyche and physics affects the body. Gravity affects breathing as well as the body's weight distribution and gives it lightness and freedom. Conscious and unconscious emotions can block freedom and thus prevent the optimal dynamism and elasticity that the body needs. In On nature's terms, you gain insight into how you can regain the freedom of breathing and create optimal physical conditions for free exercise. For you as a musician, this can mean that you can stay at a high artistic level over a long period of time. It also helps to avoid many stress injuries by being an exercising human being on nature's terms.
Randi Bjerge-Sköld is Associate Professor at the Institute for Classical Music and Music Pedagogy at the Faculty of Arts, University of Agder in Norway. There she teaches classical singing, interpretation, chamber music, instrumental methodology and stage preparation. In addition to being a performing singer, she has previously taught at Norges Musikkhøgskole and the Academy of Music in Malmö. She has also been involved in starting and building up Artist and Musician Health in Malmö.
