The piece is composed based on two ideas. One idea is to carry forward the poem and its message. The poem makes me feel hope, confidence and trust and I want to reflect this in the music. The second idea is to draw inspiration from the starry sky described in the poem. I have focused on the night sky that rests above us in the month of April and have drawn inspiration from various celestial phenomena (constellations, meteor showers, star constellations). I want to paint a musical April sky and against this background let Karin Boye's words flow.

Önskenatt is a commissioned piece by Körcentrum Syd, composed for three choirs in the treble register (one girls' choir and two ladies' choirs). The piece is dedicated to the three ensembles: The ladies' choir at the Malmö Academy of Music, the ladies' choir Koritsia and the girls' choir Köramellerna. Önskenatt was first performed on 4 May 2022 at Malmö Live Konserthus and the concert was part of Malmö Live's theme year "100 women 100 years".
