In this vibrant, sacred choral piece for treble voices and SATB a cappella, the choir gets to “cast its joy like birds towards the sky.” The work is well suited for festive occasions such as the First Sunday of Advent, Palm Sunday, anniversaries, and inaugurations – but is equally appropriate when the choir wants to portray a jubilant Gloria in other contexts. The text is taken from the Psalms, and the repetitive treble part can be sung by younger voices, alternatively by a soloist or a solo group.
