The accordion school is intended to be used directly without preparatory instruction on other instruments and has a slow progression in the initial stages. Many of the songs are meant to be played by ear or as inspiration for playing by ear. The songs are initially short and the melodies are played with advantage in both hands - until "serious" playing with both hands is introduced. Interaction with the teacher is important for the student to assimilate the material in the best way.

The material in the Accordion School has been developed in collaboration with students at Kungl. The Academy of Music in Stockholm and at SMI (Stockholms Musikpedagogiska Institut). Several of the best ideas, compositions and arrangements have been incorporated into the school after joint analysis and processing.

ANITA AGNAS has studied with Mogens Ellegaard and Lars Holm at the Royal Music Conservatory. She now teaches accordionists at Kungl. The Academy of Music in Stockholm, as well as accompanying and teaching piano at the Conservatory of Music in Falun. Anita has played the accordion in many different contexts, everything from opera and ballet at the Royal Opera House to music for the Christmas calendar (Pettson & Findus), solo concerts and above all chamber music.
