Ingemar von Heijne wanted to include a composer's puzzle in his book. The picture that appears afterwards is supposed to represent Lars Johan Werle. The puzzle is put together with Werle's interview responses in various media. Friends also feature in the book. Lars Johan Werle started as a swing boy in Bromma in the 1940s. For a while he sailed freely in the wake of »Måndagsgruppen«, but soon he became a »spontaneous chameleon« - an early postmodernist if you will - which especially the opera companies and Körsverige were happy to bet on. He preferred to work in collective forms and developed a distinct theatrical instinct. Getting really close to a text was a joy to him.
Puzzle can mean riddle. Lars Johan Werle also lived up to that. A CD with Werle's music is included.
