Martin Åsander writes in the foreword: "The compositions in this booklet can be considered a triptych. The songs, which are a selection from various poetry collections, can be performed together in the suggested order or separately. I have tried to find a musical tone and line where the music both ties together and contrasts."
The suite is dedicated to St Jacob's Chamber Choir and conductor Gary Graden, who premiered the music in spring 2016 in Stockholm.
