One of Sweden's finest and perhaps most overlooked wise poets is Fritz Sjöström. By profession he was an artist and taught at Konstfack in Stockholm. He spent a lot of time in Fårö, where many of the songs have taken their motifs.
Windless waltz belongs to these Fårö songs. Gunnar Eriksson's arrangement makes good use of the stillness that the text and melody convey.
The song should be sung simply and preferably a little thin in tone. Phrasing based on the text. If instrumentalists participate, the last bar of the last verse can be a starting point for improvisation in the spirit of the text.
