As a composer, you have to constantly struggle with a lack of ideas, writing cramp or "blank page syndrome". This struck me while working on an orchestral piece in the fall of 2016, and in order to regain the joy of creation, I started writing music based on Gregorian themes. These hymns are a quest for simplicity, an attempt to emphasize by simple means an already written melody and a well-established text. The pieces are short and work for me as a composer as a form of creative relaxation and hopefully they can also give the listener a feeling of relaxation while listening. - Henrik Dahlgren
