"My version of Härlig er jorden - originally written for the male choir Svanholm Singers - is a tribute to nature and life. But it is also a reminder of the threats and challenges we face in connection with the increasingly frequent climate changes. The work consists of three different musical and textual themes: The first theme is the hymn Glorious is the Earth. The second theme is a setting to music of part of Chief Seattle's celebrated speech to Governor Isaac I Stevens in 1854, a powerful appeal to respect the rights of indigenous peoples, but also a stark and articulate reminder that we humans are part of nature and not its overlords . The third theme is a fragment from the funeral prayer of the Swedish Mass." - Sofia Söderberg
