The Finnish-Swedish poet Gunnar Björling is one of the foremost lyricists of Swedish-language modernism. His minimalistic, terse poems are, in all their simplicity, rich in impressionistic associations. Composer Staffan Storm has selected five poems from Björling's collections, all with a close-to-nature summer theme, and given them a congenial (to use a well-worn epithet) tone.
