a listening spirit gathers the echoes of creation
the roar of volcanoes against crashing seas
A lullaby by the beach, the song of a curlew
And the earth is waste and empty.
And the Spirit of God hovers over the water
Deep under the surface of the day you are someone else
and yet recognized as you, as we,
your roots, your winding snake system,
your strongly held foundation and silence.
