These are the jury's words about the winning entry of the Allmänna Sången & Anders Wall Composition Award 2016:

“The winning entry consists of three parts of a distinctly different characters that together form an interesting and exciting whole. The choice of texts is superb and they have been set to music of the utmost class and professionalism. The three speeches create a dramatic, comic and exciting atmosphere in the interaction between the voices, the choir and the audience.”

Speeches consists of The Rights of Woman, Surrender Speech and The Best Friend. In the first part, the text consists of parts of the “Declaration of the Rights of Woman” that Olympe de Gouges wrote in 1791. de Gouges' involvement in women's rights led to her death, she was executed by guillotine in 1793. In the second part, the text is based on a speech by the Chief Joseph or the North American indigenous tribe Nez Perce. The speech is from when Chief Joseph surrendered to General Nelson in the Montana Territory on October 5, 1877. The text of the third piece is based on George Graham Vest's speech “A man's best friend”. The speech was a closing argument in a trial in Warrensburg, Missouri on September 23, 1870. George Graham Vest represented a man who was suing another for killing his dog.
