The waltz is probably the most widespread ballroom dance in Europe. As early as the 17th century, the Austrian folk dance became popular in Vienna's salons. During the 19th century, the waltz reached our country, and during the first half of the 20th century, a number of Swedish waltzes were written that have become immortal. In Waltz Classics there are over a hundred waltzes: song waltzes, bridge waltzes from both the east and west coast, concert waltzes, a couple of Swedish jazz waltzes and some international classics. A gold mine for all musicians who want to partake in this treasure! Valsklassiker is a revised edition of the Great Swedish Waltz Book that came out in 1999. Some songs have been deleted and new ones have been added. The arrangements are authentic throughout, as played by professional musicians. They are suitable for all C instruments: piano, accordion, guitar and violin as well as for vocals. In addition to notes, texts and chords, there are also introductions about the waltzes and their authors. It is our hope that this book will contribute to the survival of Swedish waltzes and be a joy for many.
