Mass to light from darkness is a mass for a concert or service.
Commissioned and premiered at Skallsjö church's 150th anniversary in 2013. Inspiration for the music comes from the new and unique light tower that was built when the church was reopened in 2011.
The mass consists of three main parts: Darkness - The light of Heaven - The light over the congregation and the church, with an opening Prelude and a closing Postlude.
The music is based on a motif consisting of four notes presented in the prelude; the theme then takes on different guises through the work's movements. The fair also features music inspired by folk music from the area around Skallsjö. Mass to Light from Darkness is suitable for the entire church year, however, the theme is particularly suitable for Candlemas Day.

Performance options:
• The mass can either be performed in its entirety or in separate parts or movements.
• The string orchestra can be replaced by a string quintet. You then play consistently non divisi, as well as the highest octave when octaves in violin 1
• The Mass can also be performed with only the organ as accompaniment. The choir/organ version is then used as the score. In this case, the organ also plays the small notes that then replace lone string parts.
