Eskil Kauppi is Tomorrow's Composer in Helsingborg
On May 7, Eskil Kauppi's orchestral suite Vingslag (The Beat of Wings) will be performed by the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra at this year's edition of Tomorrow's Composers, a collaboration between Helsingborg Concert Hall and the Malmö Academy of Music.
Eagles, sandpipers and sparrowhawks have inspired the suite Vingslag, in four movements for symphony orchestra. Eskil Kauppi has been fascinated by the birds that pass through Falsterbo in Skåne during the spring and autumn migration seasons and translated their movements into music. Vingslag is published by Gehrmans Musikförlag, as is Kauppi's early work Miracle Coast (2023).
Eskil Kauppi was born in 2001 and studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. In the spring of 2025, he will graduate from the Malmö Academy of Music.
