NEW EDITIONS JANUARY 2025
Choral music for mixed choir, children's choir and treble choir. Henrik Dahlgren has arranged Sara Parkman's and Hampus Norén's fantastic songs, the winner of the Swedish Church Song Association's competition Per Ekedahl comes with new music, new Ted Gärdestad arrangements and much more.
Anna-Karin Klockar has written another fun piece for SATB a cappella. A March with tu-ru-tu-tut, boom and ping in the text, no one can resist, right?
Many people probably know Sara Parkman and Hampus Norén, musicians and singers who created their own folk musical universe. Composer Henrik Dahlgren has made two fun and exciting arrangements of two of their songs, Vreden for SATB a cappella and Ing-Marie's waltz for solo or solo group and SATB a cappella.
The multi-talented Arvid Svenungsson is a pianist and singer who, among other things, has toured with the show Diggiloo, composed music for symphony orchestra, and works as a cantor in Järvsö. He has here set a text by Sara af Klintberg , Du vatten for SATB a cappella.
From the opera Löftet by Mats Larsson Gothe we have taken a short piece for SATB a cappella. Men du kom inte , with lyrics by Susanne Marko. Mats' opera choruses are simultaneously singable and harsh, with inspiration from Lidholm's choirs. The Promise was commissioned by the Royal Stockholm Opera and premiered on January 27, 2022.
Jag dricker dig liv, a love poem written by Margareta Melin set to music for SATB a cappella by Sven Hagvil. Beautiful, expressive, loving and touching and with a not too demanding level of difficulty.
David Bergius has made a nice arrangement of the Irish folk song Down By the Sally Gardens for SATB a cappella. Ge mig handen min vän is the Swedish title with lyrics by the legendary Ingela Pling Forsman.
Bodvar D. Moe is a Norwegian composer, musician and teacher. He has written Blessed Are the Poor, three pieces for SATB a cappella. The text is taken from the Gospel of Matthew. It's a suite in a smaller format and fully surmountable for most choirs.
For SA, optional baritone and piano you get Avicii's Waiting for Love, this time too it's Henrik Dahlgren who has arranged it. A simple, well-sounding arrangement with an accessible piano part.
Per Ekedahl , who was recently named winner of the Swedish Church Song Association's composer competition for his Du går vid vår sida (for SAB, children and organ, text Py Bäckman), has composed an Agnus Dei in mixed time signatures for SSAA a cappella. It is well composed and beautifully sounding.
Carin Åkesson has made an arrangement for SSAA a cappella on Ted Gärdestad's popular song, Äntligen på väg. We could hear it in SVT's Walpurgisday broadcast with Carin's singing ensemble Iris.
Finally, two pieces in one edition by Anna Cederberg-Orreteg Nya vägar and In vernali tempore . Nya vägar (New Roads) is a composition by Anna for SSA and piano with lyrics by Karin Boye. The arrangement of the well-known song In vernali tempore from Piae Cantiones for SSAA a cappella has also been given Swedish lyrics by Anna. Light parts that sound nice and create a spring atmosphere.
